Compress comic images to the file size you need

Set a maximum size such as 200KB, 500KB, or 1MB. The tool finds a suitable JPG or WebP quality and only reduces dimensions when quality alone is not enough.

How to compress comic pages

1. Add one image or a batch

Choose finished comic pages, episode thumbnails, or promotional images. Multiple files can be processed together.

2. Select JPG or WebP

Both formats support adjustable compression. JPG is widely accepted; WebP often produces smaller files but should be used only where the destination accepts it.

3. Enter the maximum file size

Use the limit shown by the publishing platform. The compressor first searches for the highest usable quality below that limit. If the image remains too large, it reduces the pixel dimensions proportionally.

4. Inspect lettering before download

Compare the output size and dimensions, then open the preview at normal reading size. Small dialogue and thin line art should remain clear.

Comic compression questions

How does target-size compression work?

The browser tests several quality levels. If none meet the limit, it scales the image down proportionally and tests again.

Will the output always be exactly the requested size?

The result is designed to stay below the maximum, not to fill every remaining byte. Actual size depends on color, detail, texture, and lettering.

Why can a high-quality re-export be larger than the original?

The source may already use optimized encoding. Choose a lower quality or the target-size mode when the goal is a smaller file.
