How to turn a photo into a recurring comic character

Choose a photo that will survive conversion

Use a clear portrait or everyday photo with a visible face, hair, clothing, and body position. Avoid heavy blur, extreme shadows, crowded backgrounds, and accessories that hide the features you want to keep.

A couple photo can provide two protagonists when both faces are visible. A pet photo can make the animal the central character. Decide who should remain identifiable before you start.

Start Photo Comic and define the anchor

Upload the reference, choose page manga or vertical webtoon, and describe the setting, role, outfit, and story direction. Keep the character description concrete: hairstyle, face shape, clothing colors, age range, and one or two distinctive objects.

The first generated page is a test of the reference. Review the face, hair, outfit, proportions, expression, and relationship to the setting before continuing.

Save and reuse the character

When the design is usable, save the protagonist in the supported character workflow or Creative Asset Library. Reusing a saved character avoids creating a new character reference each time, while normal page and revision costs still apply.

Use the same saved asset for later pages and chapters. Keep reviewing each result: a reusable reference improves continuity but cannot guarantee identical pixels, poses, lighting, or clothing on every page.

Fix small problems locally

If a page is broadly correct but one area is wrong, use Local Fix on the marked area. Use Redraw Page when the whole page needs a new composition. Review the confirmation prompt because both operations can consume credits.
