Export guide

Export a finished comic in the format you need

Review the finished pages first, then export supported work as a long image, PDF, ZIP package or self-contained HTML ebook for offline reading and sharing. The format should follow the destination, not the other way round.

Can I download webtoon pages as ZIP images?

Yes. StoriesToon supports exporting a finished comic as a ZIP package of individual page images. The ZIP is a folder of numbered images, not a document, and the numbering is zero-padded so page order survives unzipping on any system.

The package is written so the reading order survives a plain alphabetical sort. Three digits, starting at 001, means a folder listing still reads 001, 002, 010 — where a folder of 1, 2, 10 would not. One image per comic page, and the ZIP does not slice or merge pages. The cover travels as a separate, named file rather than a numbered one, so it does not compete with the page sequence.

  • comic-title_chapter-01.zip — the package itself, named after the work and chapter.
  • 001_page.png, 002_page.png, 003_page.png … — one image per comic page, zero-padded to three digits so the order survives sorting.
  • cover.png — named rather than numbered, so it sits outside the page sequence.
  • Formats follow your export settings for the selected page range.

One practical note before you use it: do not upload the ZIP to a publishing platform. Most platforms accept image files, not archives. Unzip the package first and upload the images in numbered order — which is the reason the numbering exists in the first place.

Which export format fits which destination

Four formats, four different jobs. Choosing by destination rather than by habit is what keeps the last step from becoming a re-export.

The four supported export formats and what each one is for
Export What you get Best for Not the same as
Long image One tall vertical file, every finished page stitched together Platforms that read as a continuous scroll —
PDF Selected finished pages in a document Reading on a desktop, printing, portfolios —
ZIP package Selected page images as a numbered set Archiving, handing files to an editor, re-uploading elsewhere —
HTML ebook One self-contained HTML file that opens offline in a browser Offline reading, sharing a single file Not EPUB, not MOBI

Only finished comics are exported. A project that has been imported and analysed but not drawn is not a finished comic, and it should not be described as one.

How do I prepare a comic for export?

Review before you export, because fixing a page after the fact costs a redraw. The check is short, and it is the same check that keeps a published page from being the first time anyone noticed a name was wrong.

  1. Review the finished pages

Check characters, dialogue, names, cultural details, page order and visual continuity. Generated results can vary, so each page is reviewed rather than assumed.

  2. Confirm the export rules that apply to your account

Free downloads carry a StoriesToon watermark by default, and after any paid order the account can download without it. Draft export and Draw This Chapter are available to active subscribers. Check the current rules rather than relying on a remembered one.

  3. Choose the format the destination accepts

Match the export to the destination. A platform that reads a continuous scroll wants the long image or numbered segments; a store that requires EPUB does not accept the HTML ebook.

  4. Select the page range and the cover

Export the pages you actually finished, and decide separately whether the cover belongs in the set. A cover inside a numbered page range shifts every number after it.

  5. Open the exported file and check it

Re-check the file you actually produced, not the settings you typed. Export settings and the output file can disagree, and only one of them gets uploaded.

One single long vertical image

A supported webtoon can be exported as one single long vertical image that stitches every finished page into one file. This is the format readers scroll on many webtoon platforms; split it into ordered segments when the destination has a maximum image height or file-size limit.

The split is where a clean export becomes a careful one. Keep faces and dialogue away from the cut lines, and number the segments so they cannot reorder in transit. A folder sorted as plain text will place 10 before 2 unless the numbering is zero-padded.

One boundary applies to every format on this page: export follows the comic, not the plan for it. Only finished comics can be exported — a project that has been imported and analysed but not drawn is not yet a comic, and no export turns it into one. If part of a chapter is still unwritten, the export covers the pages that exist, not the ones you intend to add later.

There is also an account boundary worth checking before you promise a file to anyone. Draft export and Draw This Chapter are available to active subscribers, while free users can still create page by page and download the supported finished formats. Buying extra credits alone does not unlock the subscriber-only features, so the export you can produce depends on the plan, not only on the credit balance.

The watermark rule is separate from both. Free downloads carry a StoriesToon watermark by default, and after any paid order the account can download without it. Because that rule can change, check it at export time rather than at the start of a project — the format is a stable choice, but the rules around it are not.

Export questions

Can I download webtoon pages as ZIP images?

Yes. StoriesToon supports exporting a finished comic as a ZIP package of individual page images. The ZIP is a folder of numbered images, not a document, and the numbering is zero-padded so page order survives unzipping on any system.

Can I export a comic as PDF or ZIP?

Supported finished comics can be exported as a PDF, a ZIP package of individual comic page images, a long image, or a self-contained HTML ebook.

Is HTML export the same as EPUB or MOBI?

No. StoriesToon documents a self-contained HTML ebook export, which opens offline in a browser. It should not be described as EPUB or MOBI, and it is not accepted by stores that require those formats.

Can I export a comic as one single long vertical image?

Yes. Supported finished webtoons can be exported as one single long vertical image that stitches every finished page into one file. Check the destination's maximum image height and file size before uploading it.

What should I check before export?

Review page order, dialogue, names, cultural details, visual continuity, the selected page range, the cover, and the current watermark rules that apply to your account.

Do free downloads carry a watermark?

Downloads by free users carry a StoriesToon watermark by default. After any paid order, the account can download without the watermark. Check the current rules before promising an outcome.

Should I upload the ZIP to a publishing platform?

No. Most platforms accept image files rather than archives. Unzip the package first and upload the images in numbered order.
